Title: Quantum superpositions of macroscopic objects as probes of fundamental physics

Abstract: We will discuss how quantum superposition of distinct spatial states of a macroscopic object can be generated and tested purely by the means of an internal spin embedded in the object. We will discuss the potential applications in sensing classical gravity, and, particularly, the requirements for sensing very weak signals such as gravitational waves and neutrinos. In the end, I will describe the proposal for a laboratory based experiment for detecting the quantum nature of gravity based on two such superpositions interacting gravitationally, and outline the challenges therein.
