Title: Top quark(s) in SMEFT
Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss a few top quark-related studies in the standard model effective field theory (SMEFT) context. After briefly introducing SMEFT, and in light of the recent observation of the four top quark production by ATLAS and CMS, I will discuss some phenomenological aspects of this rare process in the context of SMEFT. I will then move to another rare top quark process, namely single top production associated with a pair of vector bosons, considering the challenges it imposes in obtaining higher-order predictions in perturbation theory. I will conclude the talk by mentioning recent and ongoing efforts connected to precision calculations in SMEFT.
