Title: Modified gravity and the atomic world
Abstract: The existence of dark energy and dark matter hint that there is more to gravity than meets the eye. Tests of gravity, and searches for new graviton-like particles, have traditionally existed in the domain of large-scale astrophysical tests, torsion balances, etc. However, a wide range of new theories point towards small-scale setups as the most promising route towards detection. Simultaneous advancements in several branches of atomic physics, notably interferometry and atomic spectroscopy, are providing a perfect new window to search for this class of gravity-like physics.
