Title: SMEFT and searches for new physics
Abstract:
I will give an introduction and review of the status of the SMEFT, explaining why I think it is interesting and underlining the importance of precision theoretical predictions and global analyses. I will then present our recently released tool, SMEFT@NLO, that enables fixed order calculations and event generation in this model at unprecedented accuracy. Next, I will discuss some ongoing work on a global fit to electroweak precision observables Higgs and top data and the implication for some benchmark BSM scenarios. Finally, time permitting, I will outline some pathways for future sensitivity targeting high energy and high multiplicity processes at colliders.
